Blaine's Testimonials

Blaine is such an amazing person! Intelligent, kind and patient with a
wonderful sense of humour, getting in touch with him was without a doubt the
best decision I made during my efforts to pass Part Three.

He works really hard at finding out what the examiners are looking for and
passing the information on to his pupils. His style is very relaxed and
humorous and he makes the subject quite fascinating. He put me at ease very
quickly and for the first time I found I was actually enjoying the training!

Making a video of the lesson is a really useful idea as you can go over it
as many times as you want and recap on anything you need to. (They are also
really good fun to watch!).

I was really lucky to find Blaine - I couldn't have got through the Part
Three test without his excellent teaching and sound advice and I would not
hesitate to recommend him to anyone thinking of becoming an A.D.I.

Ditto ditto ditto to everything everyone else has said.
Whenever I have read columns like this I've always thought to myself, are they for real. Well I know this
one is!
I had two trainers before I was introduced to Blaine. I was feeling frustrated knowing that the training I had
received so far may well have taught me something about being a driving instructor but was not going to
get me through the part 3 exam. Having been through part3 once I knew I had to be better prepared next
time. I will always be thankful for being pointed in the right direction because I know I would not have
passed if it wasn't for Blaine and he taught me so much which has made me a better driving instructor.
When I took my part 3 It was as though Blaine was there. The wording and the life lines that the examiners
were using were just as Blaine had prepared me for. He takes the trouble to sit in on so many exams so
that he is up to date on what the examiners are looking for. Advice to any P.D.I's out there if you are
about to invest money in training then just go and see Blaine Walsh first if you don't think he's for you then
you haven't lost anything and any A.D.I trainers out there who are reading this If you want to be a good
trainer and have fantastic feedback like Blaine's then why not go and see him and find out what makes him
so good!
Many thanks Blaine

D.S.A; A.D.I ( car ) oh that feels so good. :o)

Ten years ago I came from Spain to work and learn English. Being a waiter wasn’t my dream so I went to
one of these driving schools for a chat. Soon I was signing a contract with them of £2000. People were
really nice but I didn’t get what I expected. What a pity! “If I only knew this before”.
You can pass parts 1 and 2 easily with professional help. Then you get stuck with part three and you
realize that some companies that ask you for the money in front are just pure business and there is no way
back.
I went to part 3 and failed twice with 3/3 and then someone recommended me Blaine. After all the money
I had spent I thought paying another £30 an hour for another instructor was too much but I was curious
about this camera that records everything that happens on the car.
Honestly I cannot really find the appropriate words to describe the way that Blaine teaches. He is too
good to be truth. I had all the theory in my head but I didn’t have a clue of how to use it and what to say at
the right time. I am a slow learner and part 3 is not easy. I took some lessons from Blaine and he gave me
the “magic tips”.
I knew I needed time to go through these tapes so I watched them over and over and over again. I went to
the test and I got 4/4. I thought I had very few chances of passing but Blaine made that dream come true.
Anyone out there struggle ling for real help must call Blaine. There is no commitment and you won’t regret
it. In fact you will not believe that someone like him can help you so much.
Best regards

Blaine comes across as a very professional instructor. His training techniques and general know how of the
part 3 syllabus has helped me become an approved driving instructor. On board cameras enabled me to
do fault analysis within my own technique. I would highly recommend Blaine to future candidates who wish
to become A.D.I's.

When I went to Blaine, it was in desperation and basically panic. I had, like many others, been drawn in by
the hype and advertising of shall we say a large instructor teaching facility. I got through parts 1 and 2,
fairly painlessly, they helped at the right points.
Then part three, and my 5 day training course, in-car, MMM well that is almost overstating it already.
The instructor I had, went against the basic rules of instruction, was impatient, stroppy even, and basically
was in over their head. Needless to say I left the course downhearted and certainly not feeling ready to
pass my test.
Then Blaine came to the rescue. Sound teaching, good advise, and a method that is beyond description,
except brilliant.
He got me through the test, even though another establishment will take the credit, wish I had seen him first.
Many thanks Blaine, and I will be back for refreshers.

I was pleased to have had Blaine recommended to me. I found his style of
teaching methodical and easy to understand. Specifically, the best aspect
of all the training was that he made me get it right. It wasn't until I
started getting it right, whether, phase one or two, that my confidence
started to grow and a greater understanding developed. The video taping of
each lesson is a fantastic reference to have, especially in this early part
of my new career. I would happily recommend that anyone attempting part 3
contact Blaine ASAP , if you are reading this along with the all the other
reviews then you can see how many folk have been positively affected.

Blaine…. What can I say! If you are struggling with Part 3, your instructor isn’t giving you the time you
need or you think that your instructor just isn’t up to teaching this, then Blaine is your man. Helen, below,
was the second person to recommend Blaine to me whilst I was sitting in the test centre waiting for
students to return. I had already paid the full amount for another ADI and was reluctant to spend more
money on training, but my sponsoring ADI really wasn’t up to teaching part 3. I bit the bullet and spent
that bit extra! It was worth it.

Everything the others say below I completely agree with, wicked sense of humour, easy to understand
teaching techniques, comfortable learning environment and knowledge about the test beyond all the books.
I achieved 6/4 on my second attempt.

Thanks mate

During training with Blane Walsh, I learnt what was required of me to pass my part-3-test of instructional
ability, how to cope with different scenarios put forward by the examiner, and how to tailor my briefings to
suite my understanding of the subjects.
I also learnt to keep better control of my pupils (as I used a trainee licence) and pass on knowledge
quickly and efficiently during my lessons. My fault identification in my pupils has improved drastically since
my training, even though I believed I was already at a high standard. I did not find this level of training
anywhere else, and I had wasted a lot of time and money in other training companies. CALL BLANE
FIRST!!!

I shall long remember the 18th January 2005, the day I became an ADI. Prior to my training with Blaine, I
had failed my first attempt at part 3 which left me somewhat disillusioned. In September 2004, I decided
to go on a trainee licence and had planned to do my 20 hours supplementary training with the same
establishment I had originally enrolled with. However, a chance telephone conversation with a fellow PDI
highly recommended Blaine. How right they were and I never looked back, my only regret is that I did not
enrol with him from the start. I now appreciate the benefits of one-to-one training instead of being treated
as one of a number.
The training is conducted in a relaxed professional manner with an element of light heartedness. The video
recordings were invaluable and certainly made interesting viewing!
I shall always be grateful to Blaine for the part he played in me achieving my new career and will definitely
be using his services for ongoing training and the inevitable check test!

My Road to Success

Let me explain why I wholeheartedly endorse ADI training by Blaine Walsh.

The day of December 15th 2004 was a watershed in my life - I passed the Part Three Exam and became
an ADI. Those of you studying for this exam know this is not a simple task. It takes a combination of
several skills to succeed.

Nineteen months ago whilst working full time and running a home I happily embarked on an ADI course
with a large training establishment. As there was no rush for me to qualify I took the training at my own
pace, paying the fees upfront and not really fully appreciating the complexities of it all. A nicer bunch of
trainers could not be found anywhere. I had great fun studying for and passing the parts 1 and 2. I enjoyed
the cameraderie and social aspect of the early part of the course and met some really great people. I
realised my previous driving style was woefully inadequate for today`s roads and was glad I had at least
learned to drive properly.

However events took a turn when it came to the part 3. The training establishment I was with did not
invest enough hours in training me for the Part 3. It is probably not built into their budget, and this is where
one-on-one training is vital. I could not have known when I signed up.

It is not enough to go away and study the material they give you because you cannot really practice on
your own. I personally could not get my mind around the requirements for the exam. I failed my first
attempt with a lucky 3/4. Something was wrong with my understanding. I felt I was approaching it the
wrong way.

Finally after several prompts from different people I gave Blaine a try. Suddenly it made sense - I could
structure an approach and get my thoughts in order. I learnt from Blaine how to teach different skills,
remedy faults, or avoid them and control the lesson. Blaines teaching coupled with my extensive notes and
diagrams for each PST (PST`s for dummies, I call them) I passed at the second attempt with a 4/4.

Blaine has a great sense of humour and a really relaxed way of teaching that gets through. I will invade his
life again when I have a check test scheduled. I now use my notes and Blaines teaching tips for all my
lessons.

The first training school I was with probably thinks my success is down to them and will have me on their
register as a pass. I know differently, I would not have suceeded without the extra tuition from Blaine.

Take a tip from me do not leave extra training to the third attempt if you are finding the going tough.

I was recommended to Blaine Walsh, by a fellow PDI, and what a life saver he was! My own trainer was
fine for the Part 2, but I felt I was struggling on the part 3. I was invited to sit in on a training session, and I
was immediately impressed! I felt totally at ease in his company, and was struck by his professionalism.
I learned he has sat in on over fifty part3 tests, and he has used this in finding out exactly what the senior
examiners are looking for. He is full of tips that come in so useful!
All sessions are vidoed, which is great as they can be reviewed at a later stage. I found that it was very
easy to forget what had been taught by my own trainer.
He never once made me feel stupid, even though it took me ages to fully grasp the essentials of
crossroads, and he was SO patient!
He offered to sit in on my second attempt at part 3, and I thought this might be useful if I failed again!
Luckily, I passed!
I believe he offers help with the check tests, which I shall certainly be taking him up on!
So, if you are struggling with the part 3, or if you want to pass first time, then my advice is to contact him
pronto, you will not regret it!!

Cheers, thanks again for all your help!

Hi Blaine

Just wanted to thank you again for all your help in passing Part 3. Not only did you dispel my panic around
my third attempt at the end of my trainee licence, but you gave me the information I needed to pass.

The best way I can describe you is The Man with the Heineken Effect - you refreshed the parts no other
trainer had reached. Indeed, you achieved what the SEs are looking for on the Part 3 - you gave me the
remedies for the instructional faults I could identify but not fix. I found your specific remedies very helpful -
and not only for the Part 3 test but also for my work with real pupils.

Many thanks again for what was and remains a very positive experience.

''Following the euphoria of passing Part III at my third attempt I was
determined not to revert to the way I was teaching Pupils prior to the exam.
I had been having reasonable succcess with Practical Test passes, but still
didn't enjoy that sinking feeling when a Pupil failed.

This past week has been marvellous, in that all four of Pupils presented for
Test have passed.

The best moment was yesterday, Saturday 13th November, when one of my
Pupils, aged just 17,
passed with no minor faults whatsoever. She had failed her Test twice and
I'd been conducting a Test Booster Course over a period of 3 weeks.
Throughout the lessons I taught her the way Blaine had taught me (to teach)
during the Part III training. The result is self-explanatory.

So anyone out there who is going through what I was going through - contact
Blaine, asap''.

No-one could have been more despondent than I when I failed my second
attempt at Part III. I was, in fact, at the point of giving up - that is
until I had a conversation with a fellow Instructor, at the Test Centre in
Portsmouth. Like me, he had struggled to perform in the manner required by
the Examiners. He told me that he had received training from a Blaine Walsh,
and highly recommended that I get in touch with him.

This I did, and it was the best move I have ever made. Blaine recognised
immediately the problems I was having and, in the weeks leading up to my
third attempt, coaxed and coached me to the point where I received a
satisfactory 5-4 grade, achieved on 21 October 2004.

Not only was the training carried out in a thoroughly professional manner,
it was laced with a great deal of humour, which made me feel completely at
ease. In addition, Blaine accompanied me on 21 October - the pressure, as
you can imagine on a third (and final) attempt was unbearable, but his
presence in the back seat was a steadying influence.

My future is now secure, and I will always be grateful to Blaine for his
help.

I took six hours part 3 training with Blaine in addition to the training I was taking with my other trainer, so
that I would be ready for my test. I can honestly say that I would not have passed Phase 2 of the test
without this extra training. The standard of training is very high and he knows exactly what the examiners
want from you on your test. The video recording was a great help to me as any forgotton details can be
recapped at home. I now feel much more confident about teaching pupils because of the teaching
techniques that Blaine has shown me. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for ADI
training.

A very professional and high standard of ADI training. He knows what the DSA wants and he prepares
you to exceed their goal in a firm but friendly manner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone
who needs to improve their skills or prepare for a DSA check test.

I found Blaine's training a great help in preparing for my second attempt at the part 3 exam and i have no
reservations in recommending Blaine to anyone considering ADI training.

Just to say thank you very much for all your help in preparing me for my part 3 exam
Although we only had 6 hours of training, I felt that I learnt a lot in that time, and felt much more confident
about the exam, particularly phase 2.
Your teaching manner was excellent as well, as you combined light heartedness with the right amount of
seriousness to get the job done.

Thanks again, Becci DSA ADI (car)

Just a few words to say thank you for the excellent tuition I received for parts one, two and three to help
me become an ADI.
Your no fuss but positive approach suited me ideally. To help me budget the pay as you go was very
helpful, as was the video training. You have always been there to give me advice at any time during and
after I qualified. I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone wishing to become an instructor or
needing extra tuition for check tests etc.

I first met Blaine having had none of my pupils passing their tests and having failed my first attempt at part
III, you can probably guess that I was banging my head against a brick wall wondering what I was doing
wrong. However after meeting Blaine and after several useful sessions with him I passed my part III at my
second attempt and now have a high pass rate. I would not only put this down to Blaine's knowelage of
the part III test but his invaluable hints and tips about actually teaching real pupils - something that I never
got from my original choice of instructor trainers. I would thoroughly recommend Blaine to anybody
considering becoming a driving instructor or is struggling with their pupils. There is one snag though - His
sense of humour!!!!

John Moore DSA ADI (car)

Blaine from ADI TRAINING trained me to become a fully qualified driving instructor. I first contacted a
national training establishment but decided that they where not for me. I was first attracted to Blaine's 'Pay
as you Train' policy. Not only did I save a lot of money in training fee's but I think I received the best and
most up to date training available. All sessions are videoed which was a great help. I would very quickly
recommend Blaine from ADI TRAINING to anyone who is thinking about becoming a driving instructor.

Simon Cramer DSA ADI (car)

Blaine was recommended to me by a fully qualified instructor who had previously been trained by Blaine
from ADI TRAINING. From the very first lesson I felt at ease and confident that my training would
progress at a quick pace. Blaine teaches in a way that you know what to expect in the part 3 test. He sits
in on as many tests as he can so knows what they are like and is happy to pass this onto you. This
knowledge realLy prepares you for the test!. Without Blaines teaching I doubt I would have passed first
time! if at all!! I would happily recommend Blaine to anybody interested in becoming a driving instructor.
The videos were a great help and the feedback received at the end of each session was encouraging.
If in doubt try him out!

Kate Wake DSA ADI (car)

Dear Blaine, I would like to express my gratitude to you for your excellent tuition you have provided. I
have experienced other ADI driver instructor training and I can confidently state that your standards are far
superior. I have been particularly impressed with your video recordings to enable me to learn from my
mistakes, not only identifying weaknesses but also strengths.
I have no hesitation recommending your services to other ADI pupils.

I was after a total career change. After considering driving instruction as an option , I was put in contact
with Blaine, who after a 'drive about ' decided to take me on.He is honest from the start as to whether he
thinks you have what is needed , so as not to waste your time or money. His method of training is at your
pace so you don't feel pressurised at any point , all training is done in the car, with homework of briefs to
be used for the next 'lessons'.Video's are used so you can take your lesson home with you and play it
back, see where you went wrong and what progress you have made.As he tries to attend as many tests as
he can he therefore is in full knowledge of what is needed at any point of the training. He is available at the
end of a phone if you have a problem, which is always reassuring .Thanks to him I am now enjoying my
new career, which I never thought possible a year ago.

Video website Testimonials

Well i am sitting here at the end of my day off, having spent most of it watching the videos on this fantastic
site.
I am however extremely cheesed off as I only wish I had discovered it two years ago when i started out on
my path to becoming an ADI.
I used a well known big establishment to learn my trade and wasted nearly £3000 doing so.
Three pink badges and two failed part three attempts decided to give up the establishment and buried my
head into the internet and taught myself....bought dvds, books you name it i did it.
Luckily last day of third badge sat third attempt, PST10 and passed with a 5-4.
Cheesed off because i have no doubt could have achieved the same result probably better on first attempt
if i had found this Site and for only £20....WOW. What value for money.
Deanostopper from our forum

Hello Blaine,

I'd just like to thank you for the help your videos gave on passing my part 3 exam. They gave me a true
insight into what to expect and therefore put me in front of the game so to speak .Your teaching style is
relaxed yet very thorough and put over in a way which is very easy to understand. The amount of
information that you have on the part 3 exam on your web site is also the key to success, to spend that
amount of time out on the road to cover all the subjects and grades etc could take 6 months or more.

On my side I have spent a lot of time going over and over your videos and rewriting my lesson plans until I
was happy with them and then using them on my learners to fine tune them. Yes I have worked very hard
but then nothing good comes easy. I now want to continue to improve myself as I will not be happy unless
I feel my learners are getting the very best from me.

THANK YOU

Hello Blaine

I write to thank you for helping me to become an ADI. I discovered your website in March 2008, just a
few weeks prior to my Part 3 test. I had been given excellent training from my instructor, but was
struggling to get into the role-play mode. Watching your videos confirmed everything my instructor told
me, but it was seeing someone else (i.e. Lisa on the videos) doing what I was supposed to do, that gave
me more confidence in treating the examiner as a pupil. I managed to get a 5/6 on my first attempt and am
sure that this was because of: (a) good instruction, (b) your videos and (c) taking paracetamol for chronic
toothache (not recommended!)

I was recently invited for Check Test, so my first port of call was your website. I was so pleased to find
that there were videos relating to this! I opted for role-play as I had recently set up on my own and wasn't
sure about having a suitable pupil - big mistake because it wasn't anything like the Part 3 (a long story!),
but I managed to get a grade 4 so I am not too disappointed.

I've been watching the videos of 'Lessons With a Real Learner' and find them very helpful and hope there
will be more of the same.

Thank you again.
