ADI Train the Trainer
course

The biggest complaints I receive having to do with this industry are:

Q: Why can't I find a good trainer?
A: Unfortunately, there are not many good trainers around and the ones that are good are difficult to find, as they don’t usually advertise.

Q: Why aren’t there more Blaine’s out there?
A: I don’t think we need more Blaine’s out there, we just need more good trainers that have the same beliefs about how the training should be done.

Q: Why hasn't my Instructor told me this stuff?
A: Most trainers don’t take the time and effort to find out what the examiners are looking for. I have sat in on over 500 Part 3’s (at a loss of approximately £50,000 in potential earnings) to find out what they need and want.

~How to train Part 2
~How to train Part 3
~How to carry out re-training
~How to carry out check test training
~How to carry out CPD training (there will be an instructor mentor programme that you will be involved in, similar to the second year Mentor programme)
~In-car video and the advantages
~Websites and their role in your business
~Being self-employed and running your own business

The entire training will take place in my air-conditioned Mercedes A-class.

After you have completed the 3 day course, I will assess your progress and suitability and determine whether I can offer you a place in the mentoring
programme. I will only select people into this programme
that I believe will make a difference in this industry.

First Year Mentoring Programme (optional)

If we think we can work together to improve the industry, I will offer you a place in my mentoring
programme, which you can either accept or decline. I have a good reputation in the industry and being recommended by me, via my websites and otherwise, should result in you receiving the work you need. Your name and business will become listed on all my ADI websites as a recommended trainer. Aditraining.tv will be redesigned to cover everything potential ADI’s need to know about the industry and training. This will be a good tool in helping your PDI’s through the process and will also bring you to the attention of PDI’s or people seeking rescue training, as you will have a recommendation link on this website and a page with all your details and information. There will be a limited amount of trainers in my mentoring service, therefore a limited number of recommended trainers on the website, so there won’t be hundreds of people fighting for the same work.

After the initial 3 day course, if you’ve been offered a place in the mentoring programme and have
accepted, there will be a monthly payment of £150 for this programme for the first year. For this you will receive:

· 2 days, 2-1 in-car training (covering Part 3 in much more detail) either in Worcester, near Birmingham, or Stirling, Scotland (approximately 2 months after initial course)
· 1 day, 1-1 training sessions at your location every 3 months (starting 3 months after the above)
· 2 day seminars every 6 months
· Unlimited telephone and email support (fair use policy)
· My recommendation and your business listed on all my websites

Second Year Mentoring Programme (optional)

After the first year of the mentor programme, you will not need as much training and support, so the mentor programme will change slightly, as follows.

The cost will be £75 a month and will include unlimited email and phone support and links on my websites as a recommended trainer. You will also receive top-up training. To make it as flexible as possible I will use a points system. You will receive 4 points for every month you are in the mentor programme and you can use these points to pay for training. So over a year you will receive 48 points.

1-1, in-car training at your location, 1 day = 32 points
1-1, in car training at your location, half a day = 16 points

2-1, in-car training at either Worcester (near Birmingham), or Stirling (Scotland) = 16 points
1 day Seminar = 8 points

So you could do 1 day 1-1 and 2 seminars or 2 days 2-1 training and 2 seminars or half a day 1-1 and 1 day 2-1 and 2 seminars or 6 seminars. The combinations are endless, so you can choose what suits you best. Some people get a lot from seminars, others get a lot from 1-1 or 2-1, so you choose.
You can buy extra points for £10 each at anytime if you wish to take extra training.

There are some rules that you must follow to become one of my mentors and recommended trainers. They are:

~You don’t charge for part 1, but will be expected to help the pupil if needed
~You train no more than 2-1 for Part 2 and Part 3
~You train 1-1 for rescue training, unless the people know each other and wish to train together.
~You use in-car video recording for Part 3 within 6 months of starting. (I can get a system for £299, at cost)
~You only charge Pay-As You-Go
~You encourage “buddying-up” for your pupils to practice
~You offer to all your pupils to sit in on their Part 3 tests without charging (if you don’t have another test booked)
~You recommend my video site to help their training (you will be paid via the affiliate programme for this).
There is a new section coming to aditraining.tv that will be laid out as a training course for the pupils to follow, with your guidance.
~You will be expected to use the training programme on aditraining.tv
~You will be expected to keep high standards at all times
~You will be expected to keep records of your passes and fails.
~You will be expected to attend all seminars and trainings by me (dates will be flexible).

You can enroll in the initial 3 day course by itself, or any of the other courses and trainings that I offer, at the cost of the individual course or training. Just a reminder that without enrolling in the mentoring programme you will not receive any of the benefits listed under the mentoring programme. This is because unless you’re having regular training and mentoring, I am unable to monitor your progress and guarantee the quality of your work to potential PDI’s.

You will be Self-employed and run your own business (I will teach you how). This is not a franchise, or something that I manage for you, however, I will do everything that I can to help you through the mentoring programme and by supplying clients via advertising on my websites (no guarantees of the numbers of clients can be given). You are paying for the above training and support
.

This service can be cancelled by either party at any time, with no future costs charged to you or refunds given. To sum it up, for your £150 a month (for the first year), you will receive 5 in-car training days, 4 seminars, unlimited e-mail and phone support, and my 10 years of experience and knowledge from sitting in on 500 Part 3 tests, all for less than you would receive for carrying out 4 hours of ADI training a month. There are no hidden costs or extra charges. I believe that this gives you a very good service and value for your money.

After reading the above, if you wish to become involved, please email me with your name, grade or pass score if you don’t have a grade, the area you wish to cover, and the location of the course you wish to take part in. Also, I need your mobile and landline phone numbers. Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you. If you need more information or would just like to talk to me personally, I would be more than happy to discuss things over with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I have to become ORDIT registered once I’ve done the 3 day course or to be mentored by you?
A: No. I will discuss how to become ORDIT registered during the training, but the decision to do it or not is yours. This is also the case during the mentoring process. Becoming ORDIT registered is not a part of the conditions of being mentored by me. We will discuss all the pros and cons and details during your training.

Q: How long do I have to be an Instructor to become ORDIT registered?
A: You have to be an Instructor for a minimum of one year. (Once again, this does not apply to the
conditions of taking my course or being mentored).

Q: Can I take the 3 day Train the Trainer course without doing the mentoring programme?
A: Yes you can. Feel free to sign up for the 3 day training course at any scheduled times.

Q: Do I have to do the mentoring programme immediately after the 3 day training, or can I start it at a later date?
A: You can start the mentoring programme at any time, but to get the best out of the training, I would encourage you to do it sooner rather than later, but the decision is yours.

Q: How long do I have to be a part of the mentoring programme?
A: You can be a part of the mentoring programme for as little or as long as you like, but for me to
recommend you via my websites, I will need you to be a part of the programme so I can be confident in your continued high standards as a trainer. After the first year’s mentoring programme, you will go onto a revised programme which is half the monthly cost and is discussed in more detail at the end of this Q & A section.

Q: Can I do the mentoring programme without doing the 3 day training course?
A: No. This is because I want to make sure that you’re teaching the correct things before I put your details on my websites and recommend you to customers.

Q: Is there enough work out there and will I be able to charge £40 an hour?
A: Yes, there is enough work out there, thanks to our friends that do a lot of paper and TV advertising. The idea of becoming a driving instructor is put into people’s minds. As a good and professional instructor, your reputation will grow quickly, and people expect to pay around £40 an hour for good training. I’ve had a lot of people tell me that I am “reassuringly” expensive, which means that they feel confident in my abilities and knowledge and wouldn’t feel the same if I charged half that price. I will be promoting an instructor-mentoring program as a form of CPD which will give you additional work through 1-1 and 2-1 training, which you will be paid £40 an hour for doing.

Q: How would my prices compare with the big schools or training establishments?
A:
Most of the big schools charge more than £3,000 for a complete course, plus additional charges when they have to go for more training to others (like you and me) just to pass. Most of these courses involve a lot of classroom study and 2-1 training. If an average pupil takes 60 hours at £40/hr., that would be a total cost of £2,400 which would be for 1-1 training. If they did 2-1 training, it would be £1,200. So, you can see what the better value is, plus the training that you will give people will be at a much higher standard (it’s my job to make sure that it is).

Q: Are there any exams to pass your 3 day course or mentoring programme?
A: No. I will be evaluating your progress and aptitude for this field throughout the 3 day training and throughout the mentoring process and will openly discuss any issues/problems/questions that may arise. I want you to succeed and will do my best to help and guide you.

Q: I have a franchise with a school, so will that stop me from carrying out Train the Trainer training?
A: No. As a self-employed Driving Instructor, you can’t be stopped from carrying out your own work on your own time. Some big national schools may stop you from using their cars for training outside of their franchise, so you would need to check that out.
